Today’s Fragrance:The Standing Factor – Prayer

Scripture: Ephesians 6:10-13; 18
“… and having done all to stand” “Stand therefore…” Our standing factor is that of prayer. In verse 18 of our study Scripture we see how the armor is used and how – by prayer. A prayer-less Christian is a powerless one.
The various parts of the amour we have signify what entails a hundred per cent answered prayer. “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God (the most important personality in the universe) to the pulling down of strongholds” (2 Corinthians 10:4) “for we wrestle not against flesh and blood”
Every battle happens on a field where standing (firm traction) is required. On what then do we stand?
Firstly, we stand because, “It is finished!” What is finished? Every battle against sin, against our lives by which “we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us” (Romans 8:37). We are not those neither chanting into battle nor singing songs of victory. We rest because the battle has already been won. We just act upon the finished battle as conquerors. We remind the enemy of his defeat in every attack we ever face.
Secondly, it is upon and in Christ that we stand – grace fields. “By whom we have access into this grace wherein we stand. It is in Christ that we live, move and have our being rooted and grounded in Him. That is the point where we can successfully implement the armor in battle. Because he has exalted his word above all his name (Psalm 138:2) God is obliged when we stand on his word and decree and declare war.
We stand by prayer; all prayer – tongues, native language, all in the Spirit. Prayer, dear friend, is a daily affair. Not only when you are on your knees but anywhere and everywhere you can mutter prayers in Jesus’ name for “the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous and his ears are open to their cry” (Psalm 34:15). Amen.
Prayer: Dear Holy Father, I thank you for the perfect finished work of Jesus and your acceptance into this grace wherein we stand. Teach me thy truth and let me daily put on the armor for a successful Christian walk with you in Jesus’ name. Amen.
