But if we [really] are living and walking in the Light, as He [Himself] is in the Light, we have [true, unbroken] fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses (removes) us from all sin and guilt [keeps us cleansed from sin in all its forms and manifestations]. 1 John 1:7 AMP
I believe John’s short epistle was written to tell us how to maintain our fellowship and how to restore it when broken…
Fellowship means sharing together. It is getting under the burden of one, an equal exchange with both giving of their best.
The Sons of God have a righteousness base fellowship with God so in effect, there can be no fellowship unless man can stand in the presence of God the Father without the consciousness of guilt, sin or inferiority.
The Apostle Paul defines Righteousness as the ability to stand in the Fathers presence without sense of guilt, sin or inferiority just as free in the Father’s presence as was Jesus.
Many fail or struggle to accept the magnitude of goodness Christ bestowed on us by virtue of His death on the Cross. Once they fall short, they write themselves off, condemning themselves to death when Christ willingly offered Himself eternally as an atonement for our shortcomings.
Here is the way to go when you find yourself wallowing back in the arms of sin…
Ask the Father’s forgiveness and go on in fellowship with Him. (1 John 2:1-2). You know why? Well, the instant we repent and ask the Father’s forgiveness, Jesus takes up our case before the Father and our fellowship is restored.
Asking for forgiveness restores our fellowship with God, the same approach applies when it comes to fellowship with our brethren.
When unkind words or thoughtless acts mares relationships, and both become too proud to acknowledge the fault, the gulf between them becomes almost impassable because they are unwilling to ask each other’s forgiveness.
To walk in love is to walk in fellowship, it is the sweetest, biggest, richest thing the world ever knew, this fellowship life with Him.
As we walk in constant fellowship with God we walk in Love and in God’s power… This ability of God in us enables us to walk the Word, where our thoughts actions and speech match up with His very Word.
I think the most dangerous thing for man to do on this earth is getting out of fellowship with God, he walks blind for there is no light on his path and does not know where his next step leads to. The way of man leads to death.
Let us walk in Love and in Constant fellowship with God.
