The man who enters by the gate is the shepherd of his sheep. The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. (John 10:3-5)
THIS PARABLE Jesus told His followers, tells how intimate and committed Jesus is with anyone who chooses to follow Him. His kind of relationship with us is one that is so deep and intense that it led Him to die.
For us to enjoy the full benefits of this relationship, it must not be one sided, we must be committed as He is, that is the only way we would really know Him, and then He will reveal mysteries unto us.
Well I don’t think you will tell your deepest thoughts and secrets to someone you just know by face and talk to once in a blue moon. Would you?
At the level of intimacy our actions thoughts and speech begin to come out as His. We will know Him for who He is and no longer will we struggle to differentiate His voice from the thousands of other voices speaking to us. And consequently, we will become better followers, because we know and trust in His ways causing us to follow in his steps. We only do what he says to do.
Before you can do anything else in the lives of others you must show them love. Without love there can be no connection, future and no success together.
The right way to reach the heart of man is love, and a good shepherd enters the heart by love (genuine) and not cunning ways. This is exactly what Jesus does, even while we were yet sinners and deserved no love, He gave to us what we did not deserve, and today we still benefit in countless ways of His Love.
Think back to some key people who have had an impact on your life: an incredible teacher, a fantastic boss, or a special friend, you could sense that they cared about you, and in return, you responded positively to them. The length and breadth of our influence on others are directly related to the depth of our concerns for them.
When it comes to helping people grow and feel good about themselves there is no substitute for love. This is what Jesus offers, nothing but Love.
Be found by Love.
