He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand]. (Psalm 91:1) AMP
DUE TO selfish desires man always prefers to take his own path, even though this way may seem right to man, scripture makes it clear that the only path known to man leads to death. (Proverbs 14:12)
When we submit ourselves to the leadings of our Good Shepherd trusting Him completely.(Christ) He directs us that we hit not our foot upon any stone. (Psalm 91:12) He leads us not into trouble or temptation and makes us lay down in green pastures beside still waters, we lack nothing! (Psalm 23)
When pride sets in, we elevate ourselves to the level where we feel we can do it all by our own strength. So, we thread dangerous routes without protection ignoring the fact that this world is a dangerous place, with the prince of the earth(Satan) working around to bring into fruition his deceptive schemes.
We get tempted by things that are very common to us, our very basic needs. Because that way, we will see no wrong in accepting. But let us not forget also that it is these same common things, that causes man’s fall allowing the Enemy to gain access over him and doing whatever he pleases.
It is only possible to abide under the shadows(protection) of the Almighty if you dwell in His secret place (His presence). In order words you are only safe here on earth when you remain in the presence of the Almighty. You become gullible to attacks and capturing when you step out of the secret place (living outside the consciousness of your position in Christ).
This place is always available for us but when we begin to follow our selfish desires we sway and get lost in the wilderness.
The enemy comes only to steal kill and destroy (John 10:10) so once you are found without a shepherd, a protector, a savior you become open to his plans, destruction.
The shepherd’s presence scares the wolf off but when the sheep leaves the presence of the shepherd he becomes gullible to all forms of attacks, because the sheep has no power on its own to protect himself.
The best way to keep the enemy out is to keep Christ in … It is not the praying sheep Satan fears, but the presence of the shepherd.
Let us continuously live in the consciousness of our position in Christ, far above principalities and all powers of darkness.
