We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. (Isaiah 53:6)
I LEARNED that sheep can be very stubborn, they tend to move in the opposite direction of the shepherd. whenever they are sent out into pasture, their instincts drive them right into farms (Places they aren’t supposed to be feeding) when they see it, getting the shepherd into much trouble once his eyes goes off them.
Due to this the shepherd needs to be on the lookout at all times with his eyes focused on the sheep, directing them away from danger and trouble. Once the sheep start dispersing due to lack of supervision it is a happy day for thieves who specialize in capturing stray sheep.
Scripture likens man to a sheep, it does so perfectly as naturally our instincts leads us out to explore new things ignoring all signs of dangers as we follow our own path.
We stray many times when we take our own course contrary to where the shepherd directs, all because of our natural desires. But even so, anytime we miss the way, our good shepherd chases us in order to bring us back home.
Though we did wrong by not following instructions, which lands or almost lands us in trouble, we are never cast away.
So, the good news is that all your sins, past, present and future has been dealt with on the cross, Therefore God has got nothing against you, the war against sin was finished when Christ bore it all and died on the cross. The only thing He has for you now is unfailing love, once you are willing to submit yourself to the Lordship of Christ, He accepts you just as you are, no condemnations!
Our shepherd calls us back to safe pasture that we might follow Him more closely.
Will you allow yourself to be found once more?
