… 17 Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever. 18 So encourage each other with these words. (1Thess 4:13-18)
This is the first fragrance of God’s word being delivered on this platform for you my dear friends in this year 2018, aside my new year message to you on January 1st. So, I thought to myself, why not send out a little reminder that will help us walk through this year in confidence and with much courage.
So… has it occurred to you that even as we’ve made and are still making our plans and resolutions for the year, it is also highly possible that this year could be the year of the Lord’s return? Is that somewhere in your plans for the year?
Friends, let us encourage ourselves with these words even as we walk through this year. That we as believers are not hopeless. We have a living hope! Our Hope is in Jesus and He presents to us in himself life eternal, good health, and every other good gift that has a name. Most especially the Holy spirit.
Let us be encouraged and keep pressing on, for the race isn’t over yet until the trumpet sounds.
Allow me to briefly share this with you…
Sometime ago i was praying for some breakthroughs, I remember that along that line my then Boss called for an impromptu meeting, not knowing what the meeting was going to be about, I was hopeful. The truth is that I could really use a pay raise but I didn’t mention anything about it to him, but I had been praying.
Now the company as at that time wasn’t on its right footing with regards to finances. Guess what? In the meeting my boss just said, “from the beginning of next year I’m going to pay you this amount whether the company is broke or not it won’t affect the decision I’ve made.” He just said that out of the blue and in my head, I was like wow! I think it was about 2 months to get into the new year.
Guess what that did to me. Only hearing that from my boss, the aura around me changed. My faith was boasted because I heard! And was assured! I wasn’t just working hard in vain, I was noticed and remembered. I was so relieved and you know why? I had just been given hope! Circumstances were tough but those assuring words meant everything, even though it was future tense.
See, if hearing from my boss could boast my faith, how much more hearing According to the Lord’s own voice/Word. When the word of God speaks in your situation and you HEAR, your faith automatically shoots up. And even though you’ve not seen that thing physically, you know you have it and give thanks!
I write to remind somebody on here that our future is bright! even though our present circumstance may speak otherwise… if a word from a man could keep me going then how much more the unadulterated word of God!
We have Jesus, and because of Him we have hope! That hope will never die and our expectations will never be cut short.
And so be glad despite what your past or present speaks unto you. Just be glad that you’ve been called into Sonship.
We believe that Jesus died and rose again, and He will return for us. He is our Hope and He is our ticket out of this cruel and wicked world.
Stand firm and remain the bride He the groom, hopes to come for.
God bless you!
