I thought, ‘Now the Philistines will come down against me at Gilgal, and I have not sought the Lord’s favor.’ So I felt COMPELLED to offer the burnt offering.”1 Samuel 13:12
Thinking for God, has destructive endings. First off, you make God seem less Of God and secondly you put yourself above the wisdom of God, and that’s what I call pride.
When it comes to our walk with God, there is one thing that has been hammered countless times from the Old through to the New Testament. That’s obedience.
One thing God requires for His children to do is to obey Him.
This we do, not because we are scared of Him but because we Love and revere Him.
Now here is Saul, a king under pressure because he had seen his enemies display some “gymnastics”. He felt helpless for he had not done the expedient and so thought it wise to think for God in his current situation since “God was delaying.”
Out of that he made a call that wasn’t his to make. He allowed His fear and external pressure to force Him into making a deadly decision. Ofcourse in his eyes it was the best for the moment and thought that could bring them Victory. But that was actually the beginning of his end.
I do not know what is pressing on you so badly, even as the end of the year is near.
There might be something you’ve been waiting on, you have other options that clearly ain’t the right way but you think you’re loosing time. You could be going through a test phase.
Here is the Goodnews,
God WILL NOT let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
Failure will come your way only when you’re not patient enough to realize God has made provision for your escape!
Hold on a little longer dearie. Don’t miss the Mark.
If Saul had held on a little bit longer he wouldn’t have lost that kingdom…
His answer(Samuel) appeared right after Saul had made the wrong move, this was after he grew impatient and this caused him his kingdom over Israel.
You see, While you’re waiting, the enemy will try to gain your attention and once he has it, he will use your fears against you, causing you to give in to his ideas.
Don’t allow him! You’ve come too far not to go far.
God will make a way! He always does and always will.
Don’t give in! Not yet.
