“But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;” (Heb.10:12)
The opening Scripture has so much truth to be unveiled by the thirsty soul. The Christian life is one lived from the perfect finished work of Jesus on the cross of Calvary. The lamb of God was slain from the foundation of the world; God, our Father, already made that sacrifice for man’s sins ever before the fall happened yet that plan ought to be seen of men to acknowledge God’s righteousness and salvation package.
Jesus’ work was to restore us to a state much better than Eden because in Eden man was created but in Christ man is born by God himself, having His life and complete nature. You see, that which a man creates may look like him but is different from him except that which a man begets, which has his being—blood and all.
Salvation (Grk. Sozo) is not only being saved from hell but from the shackles of the mundane as well. Knowledge of your salvation will cause you to rest in Jesus and not strive in your own effort to “be good”. Salvation simply means a saving and that is why Yeshua (Jesus) means ‘Yahweh saves’. Meaning, there was a bondage which required a Saviour and hence the Christ.
When Jesus bore our sins on the cross he also bore our struggles of life and conflicts between our flesh and the spirit. That is why he is spirit who is born of God, for God is a Spirit (1 John 3:9; 4:24).
Do you have to struggle with, “thou shall not’s” when Christ already finished that work on the cross, having nailed the letter that was against us to it that we might live in Him and by Him?
Beloved, this is the complete salvation of God that we rest wholly in Jesus Christ and His finished work and not try to work out that which is already done. The only way we can successfully live the Christian life is to rest and trust in He who bought us with himself.
Nothing compares to that experience!
