Topic: To fear the Lord is to “fear nothing”.
Scripture: Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
If you do not know your worth and the things you possess you will end up begging or seeking for things you already have.
In life, there are rules governing everything and to get things done you must play by the rules. To do so you must know the rules of engagement.
I remember that back then I used to always pray asking God for courage, to face certain tasks ’cause the spirit of fear was hovering around me most of the time.
I actually did not realize that ” to fear God is to fear nothing”
This means that if you revere God as the holder of your life you are most likely to obey His every command. One of those commands is to be strong and courageous.
The thing is, once you become a child of the Almighty God by believing in Jesus Christ, you receive a seal which is the Holy Spirit, He separates you from the lot who have been called but not chosen.
Remember that the Holy Spirit is a full package and once you receive Him you are made full by Him.
So why would God command us to not be afraid if He hasn’t already made provisions to rule out our fears?
2 Timothy 1:7 says
for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
The Spirit has been given but if you remain ignorant, if you do not fun the fire in you, you will be as good as dead. It will be as if you’ve received nothing already and will keep asking for things you already have.
For the deposits of the Spirit of God in us to really function well, then you must not be lukewarm, you must be blazing hot at all times and by that when we stand no one nor will stand against us.
Having Christ in you must cause you to be fearless because wherever go He goes with you.
Father, thank you for this day and my life. Please forgive my sins as I forgive those who sin against me. Thank you lord for reminding me that the spirit you have given me isn’t that of fear. Help me be on fire for you at all times in Jesus name, amen.
