What fragrance are you wearing?

We all know what it’s like to walk or drive past a truly foul smell. Whether it’s a garbage heap, stinking socks and shoes, or the smell of a rotten rat, our first instinct is to get away from it as quickly as possible. We also know how the smell of bread baking or a bouquet of fresh flowers draws us in. We take a deep breath and savor the aroma or and how about the sweet aroma of that Ghanaian jollof, you will look for its direction even in your dreams…

Have you noticed that no matter who you are if the scent that comes from you isn’t pleasant you would not get a lot of people coming close to you unless those who are already used to you and your bad odor but I bet those people are always finding the slightest loops to escape your presence. People who wear nice, sweet scented fragrances always have people getting closer to them to find out what makes them smell that good.

There are so many fragrances that can be bought in the market, the best ones that stays on the body for longer hours despite the harsh heat here in the tropics come at a high cost. The cheap ones usually add up to the bad odor one tries to get rid of.

Have you also realized that no matter the type of expensive sweet scented fragrance a person wears, once you get closer to smoke, it has the ability to infiltrate the clothes you are wearing and consequently gets attached to your skin? Yeah that’s why we all try to run away from smoky areas when we wear our best attire for occasions, you might end up smelling smoke!

But today I am here to introduce to you a fragrance that cannot be bought with money yet is long lasting than that which money buys.

It is the fragrance of God- one receives this by being in His presence and the amount of time you spend in this place determines how long this sweet scented fragrance with stick to you, you know the fragrances bought with money has effect on only our bodies- that which is corruptible but this particular fragrance obtained from God through Christ Jesus affects the soul, spirit and body of a being.

14 And I got it, thank God! In the Messiah, in Christ, God leads us from place to place in one perpetual victory parade. Through us, he brings knowledge of Christ. Everywhere we go, people breathe in the exquisite fragrance. 15 Because of Christ, we give off a sweet scent rising to God, which is recognized by those on the way of salvation—an aroma redolent with life. 16 But those on the way to destruction treat us more like the stench from a rotting corpse. 2 Cor 2:14-16 (MSG)

Once you wear it, you don’t only attract good things but even bad things that come into contact with you are transformed!

The fragrance of God is that awesome! ‘cause no matter where you have been to, what you have done, and what you are still into, once you come into contact with it, like smoke it overrides the fragrance you have on, leaving its prints all over you that you will always yearn to have more because of its sweetness.

Finally brethren I wanna admonish you to wear or put on Christ everyday as you do not leave your house without using a deodorant or spray, you shouldn’t also leave your house without putting on Christ.

As your fragrance attracts people to you Let the fragrance of God through Christ draw people to Christ, Let the sweet fragrance of God lead people to God for them to be saved because as they look at you they see God and as they smell you they smell the sweet love of God.

Father in the name of Jesus, thank you for the gift of life and this awesome message you have given me today. Please forgive my errors as I forgive those who wrong me. Dear God, teach me how to saturate my life with your truth and then share that truth with those around me. May others see Jesus in me and be drawn to the fragrance of His love and mercy that saves me and gives my life purpose. Thank you Sweet Lord for making your ears attent unto my prayer in the name of Jesus, Amen.
